Explore the wonders of the natural world and renew your love of reading and the planet at the library! We have Summer Reading Clubs for all ages, with popular prize books and an exciting lineup of programs planned. Join us this summer to enjoy fascinating books, learn eco-friendly skills, and much more!
All Summer Reading Club finishers will receive a free book of their choosing. Online reporting for Summer Reading will begin on June 1. Clubs run through August 15.
Eco-friendly Sewing Project in The Studio
Stop by The Studio from June 1-August 15 to make an eco-friendly sewing project using upcycled fabric! A project for beginners will be available to adults and kids entering fourth grade and up. A project for more advanced sewists will be available to adults. All supplies will be provided.
Read or listen to four books by Thursday, August 15 to receive a free book from a selection of popular and recommended titles! Adult summer reading is open to all; one entry per reader. Turn in your completed form by Thursday, August 15.
Reporting will be available starting June 1.
Celebrate summer with us with the theme of being good stewards of our planet!
Join us on Pokémon GO walking programs, do monthly Take & Makes focused on upcycling and using natural materials, learn a new skill with our beginner crochet class, and more! Report your reading by picking up a log at the Recent Arrivals Desk on the First Floor. You’ll get a free book for finishing — we have an amazing selection of new, hardcover YA books.
Choice A Read a total of 20 hours this summer. For each hour you spend reading, check off a box on your reading log. After 20 hours, turn in your log to the Recent Arrivals Desk. Then, come to the library to get your free book!
Choice B Reading isn’t the only thing you can do this summer with the library. Read just 10 hours and attend one library program (virtual or in-person). When you’re done, fill out the log and turn it into the Recent Arrivals Desk. Then, come to the library to get your free book!
Reporting materials will be available on June 1.
Children can earn a free book just for reading this summer! All they need to do is complete any 20 activities (or more) on their reading log. This year, kids in grades 5 and up can take part in Books & Beyond, a club created just for them! To get started, pick up a reading log at the library or print one at home.
Read for as many minutes as you like, and all kinds of reading count: books, ebooks, comics, magazines, audiobooks...even books read aloud by a grownup!
Halfway: Check in at the Summer Reading Club booth beginning Monday, June 10 after you've completed half of your reading log. After completing 10 activities, pick up a small prize, and have your photo taken with your favorite book for our bulletin board!
To Finish: When you’ve completed 20 days of reading and activities on your log, visit us again and pick out your free book! You can complete up to two reading logs to earn two books.
