Teen Book Review: The Boy, The Mole, The Fox, and The Horse

The library will close at 5pm on Wednesday, November 27, and remain closed all day on Thursday, November 28, for Thanksgiving. Regular hours will resume on Friday, November 29, at 9am.

Start Date

The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse by Charlie Mackesy is not a book you would typically expect to find in the hands of a teenager, but it is as beautiful as it is simplistic, and it is entirely universal. Whether just learning to read or having read for over 50 years, Mackesy presents the most important questions considered in our world today in the eyes of a curious boy, a hungry mole, a weary fox, and a wise horse. And of course, amongst 100 colored or black and white drawings, we find a little bit of discussion about cake.
