Start Date

A Tale of Sorcery, by Chris Colfer

In A Tale of Sorcery, I think it is different from other books because they all split up and they all different perspectives of what types of information they have. In most books, they all stick together because it is good to stick together as a group. For example, when Brystal is in the meeting with the leaders and learns all about it, Xanthous is still finding a place to hide, and the other faries and witches are trying to find Xanthous through the mirrors. Another time was when Brystal when Brystal finally got to the end of the challenges, Xanthous already had his hands on the tale of sorcery. I think that is cool how the author had them all meet up at the final battle together and each know the exact same amount of things, almost, with a different adventure.

Ties That Bind, Ties That Break, by Lensey Namioka

In the book Ties That Bind, Ties That Break, the main character Ailin struggles as she rebels against the tradition of binding her feet. This takes her on a completely new path in life and she has a lot of adventures as a result. One thing that I really liked about this book is that we get to see Ailin finding and growing into herself throughout the book. I would definitely recommend this book as each page leaves you on the edge of your seat!

My Year of Rest and Relaxation, by Otessa Moshfegh

I decided to read My Year of Rest and Relaxation after a wave of people my age on the internet decided to recommend it at an intense rate. However, I can't see why so many girls my age connected to the story. I understand that the protagonist is a young woman, but besides that, all she was was a typical mean girl. I felt it was a cynical book that lacked any meaning and carried itself on shock rather than a message.
