Winter Reading Club 2021

Join us for a special winter reading club. We’ll be taking advantage of the cold weather and time at home to read and share wonderful books.

Winter Reading Club is open to residents of Wilmette and Kenilworth, and students in Wilmette schools. Prizes will be awarded once per person. Winter Reading Club is funded by the Friends of the Wilmette Public Library.

Adult Winter Reading Club

Read or listen to any four books from any genres. Once you’ve read your books, fill out the Adult Reporting Form, linked below. All club finishers will receive a gift card to The Book Stall. We will accept reporting forms through March 1.

Need inspiration for what to read next? Check out our reading lists! Our librarians have compiled lists of titles to suit a variety of interests to get you started. All of our lists are linked below. Looking for more inspiration? Fill out our Book Picks Form to receive a custom book list from our librarians.

Kids and Teens Winter Reading Club

Read for 20 days to complete this winter's reading club. Mark a space on your reading log for each day that you read to earn a gift certificate for a free book! You can read for as many minutes as you like, and all kinds of reading count: ebooks, comics, magazines, audiobooks, and books your family reads together.

After 20 reading days, report to our online booth to receive a $15 e-gift card for The Book Stall. Reporting begins January 5, and you must report your completed reading log by March 1 to collect your gift card.

Youth of all ages are welcome to participate, from babies to teens in grade 12. Pre-readers can participate by having a parent mark their log each day that they are read to.

We have dozens of librarian-created book lists, or, for a custom list, fill out a Kids’ Book Picks form and a librarian will create a customized reading list or pack a bag of books for pickup. Mystery Poster Challenge #2

Help us reveal the image in our second virtual Let's Stick Together poster. You can add up to 200 pieces to this puzzle every day until the picture appears. Can you guess what the picture will be? Here is a clue.

You are sailing, but you are not on a boat.
You are going fast but have no brakes.
Gravity is helping you have fun.
You'll scream with delight!

You revealed a snowman in our Let's Stick Together poster #1!

Wilmette Snowflake Hunt

Decorate your windows with a flurry of snowflakes, and look for snowflakes in your neighbor's windows. Then bundle up and take a walk to see your friends' and neighbors'snowflakes!

Want to experience snowflake-making fun without the scissors and scraps of paper? Make one online!
