Take part in one of our Summer Reading Clubs for all ages. Adults and teens are invited to read, report online on their reading, and win a gift certificate for a free book. Our youth club is largely in-person and outdoors! Find details for all of our clubs below.
Adults: Read or listen to any four books. Report your reading in our online reporting booth and receive a digital gift card to The Book Stall in Winnetka. Open to all Wilmette library cardholders.
Teens: Read 20 days before the end of the summer and report at the virtual reporting booth on our web site to receive a digital gift card to The Book Stall. You can read anything for this program: books, comics, magazines, online articles, fanfiction, and even audiobooks all count. Also, be on the lookout for our rainbow-fueled teen programs coming in June, July, and August. To receive your digital gift card, you must report your reading by September 4.
Log your daily reading, and earn a free book to keep! All kinds of reading count: books, comics, magazines, audiobooks, and books your family reads together. Membership is open to babies through kids entering 8th grade.
Reporting starts Monday, June 14, and runs through Saturday, September 4. The in-person reporting station is open during the hours noted.* Virtual reporting is always available.
Reporting will take place outdoors, making participation safe and easy. In the event of inclement weather, reporting will move inside to the Youth Services Department on the second floor.
After 10 days of reading, visit our reporting station, talk about what you’ve read, and cast your vote for the Big Library Takeover. Club members will choose who will take over the library for a special, silly weekend: superheroes, dinosaurs, or unicorns. You decide!
After 20 days of reading, turn in your log, and pick a free book from our prize cart to take home.
You may choose to pick up a new reading log to earn an additional book (limit 3 logs/books total). Logs will be available through Saturday, July 31. All logs must be returned by Saturday, September 4.
If your family would prefer a contact-free summer reading experience, submit an online report using the button below. We will work with you to arrange pickup of your prize books. Reports must be submitted by Saturday, September 4.
*The Library building will be closed for renovations for about two weeks starting August 16. During that time, we invite you to use our virtual reporting option. Prizes will be available for pickup after the building reopens. Please check the library website for the exact reopening date.
