Library of Things

The Library of Things is our new collection that invites you to explore new ways to learn and experience technology. Check out a Beebot to learn coding with your kids, a portable dvd player for your next vacation, a kilowatt meter to learn your energy consumption—and more! We hope to add more items to the collection in the future, so check back to see what the collection holds.

What is in the collection?

  • Beebots – programmable floor robot
  • Ozobots – very small robot designed to follow user created paths, fosters creativity and problem solving
  • Portable DVD players
  • Portable CD players
  • 2DS – handheld game console; plays Nintendo 3DS games
  • Mobile hotspots – Internet connection on the go
  • iPads – preloaded with close to 100 popular titles; full featured tablet
  • Nooks – ereader preloaded with close to 100 popular titles
  • Magnifiers
  • Kilowatt meter

How do I use the collection?

  • Items are available to Wilmette and Kenilworth residents
  • Items may be checked out for 3 weeks, and may be renewed up to 4 times.
  • Items are able to be put on hold
  • No paperwork or permission slip needed—just provide your library card!
  • Pickup your items at the circulation desk, and make sure to return them to the circulation desk as well.
